What is the EPA and DHA content in Doctor's Choice Flax Oil Plus?
Doctor's Choice Flax Oil Plus contains the eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) precursor, linolenic acid (LNA). LNA, an omega 3 essential fatty acid, is converted to EPA and DHA in the body. The manufacturer has confirmed that approximately 6 percent of LNA is converted to EPA and 4 percent is converted to DHA. Thus, one serving (one tablespoon or 14 softgels) of Doctor's Choice Flax Oil Plus, which contains 5,250 mg of LNA, provides approximately 315 mg EPA and 210 mg DHA. Keep in mind that these amounts are approximations, actual amounts can be highly variable across the population.
Is flaxseed oil more beneficial than fish oil?
