The primary active ingredients found in hawthorn berries are flavonoids, including proanthocyanidins. These effective antioxidants fortify and dilate capillaries, resulting in increased blood flow and oxygen to the heart. As a result, the heart is strengthened and blood circulation is improved thereby lowering high blood pressure and reducing the workload of the heart.
