Recently it was reported that 3 of 11 Black Cohosh supplements (standardized extract products) purchased between 2002 and 2004 did not contain American Black Cohosh (Actaea racemosa), but instead contained a Chinese Black Cohosh (Actaea spp.) that does not contain the same active compounds.
