First Organics releases first organic whole-food dietary supplements
Gallup, N.M., Dec. 1, 2004 — Many people said it was impossible, but First Organics, Inc., has developed the world’s first USDA-certified organic whole-food dietary supplements.
“This is the first significant change in the dietary supplement industry in many decades, a real breakthrough,” says Dr. Phil Maffetone, company president. “They are the result of 25 years of clinical experience, 100 years of scientific research and several years of development.”
First Organics supplements were formulated by Dr. Maffetone to provide the full spectrum of nutrients found in whole foods. Dr. Maffetone, a widely recognized expert on nutrition and health, practiced complementary medicine for 25 years and is the author of In Fitness and In Health and other books. He is also known for his work with professional athletes and celebrity personalities.
The supplements provide natural but significant doses of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, from uncooked whole-food ingredients. The whole-food ingredients undergo a special heat-free process to preserve critical nutrients. This is a wide departure from traditional highdose synthetic supplements, which also may contain fillers, coatings and other unnatural ingredients.
“Many industry experts have been telling me this could not be done,” says Dr. Maffetone. “A lot of time, energy and expense went into figuring this out.”
While First Organics doses are lower than traditional high-dose synthetic supplements, the whole-food ingredients still deliver significant levels of nutrients. For example, a serving of Vitamin C Complex contains 200 mg of vitamin C derived only from whole foods — 333% of the recommended daily allowance. This dose is similar to what a person would obtain by eating a day’s worth of vitamin C-rich foods.
