What is Colloidal Oatmeal?
COLLOIDAL OATMEAL is simply oats which have been ground to a fine powder and then suspended in water. The powdered oats absorb water, turning it slightly milky and thick. When added to a bath, the hydrated granules help moisturize, soothe and relieve minor skin irritations.
The real benefits come from its ability to bind to the skin. And because of its affinity for water, it acts as a moisturizer by attracting and holding moisture on the skin's surface. In addition, protein components anchor moisturizers for long-lasting effect. The result is softer, more elastic skin. This binding action also creates a barrier which protects the skin from harmful substances. In addition, colloidal oatmeal acts as a soothing agent which helps reduce redness and itching.
Minor skin irritations caused by poison oak, insect bites, sunburn and excessively dry skin may all be temporarily relieved by colloidal oatmeal baths.

What is High Alpine French Lavender?
HIGH ALPINE FRENCH LAVENDER (Lavendula Angustifolia), thrives in the hot dry climate of the higher elevations in Provence, France. This variety is considered the most aromatic of all lavenders and has been grown for decades for its oil which is used in high quality perfumes and cosmetics.
The essential oils are extracted from the flowers in water vapor process and then passed through cooling coils. The condensation which results produces the fragrance. This time consuming process helps preserve its pungent aroma and, although the yield of "true lavender" is not as great as of other varieties, it is considered to be of significantly better quality.
When we researched lavender fragrances for our Lotions and Shower Gels, we were impressed by the large number of varieties available -- from delicate & mild to sweet & medicinal. But once we tried this "true lavender", nothing else would do. It proved to be the most expensive by far but we thought far superior.
What is Yuzu?
YUZU - (Yoo'zoo'), or Japanese Citrus, grows throughout Japan. It looks much like a cross between grapefruit, an orange and a lime and can be either yellow or green
Its flavor is similar to our grapefruit but has definite overtones of Mandarin orange. It is very fresh and tangy-tasting and is considered one of the most fragrant of Japanese fruits.
Because of its pleasing scent, oils are extracted from its peel and used both in cooking -- yuzu vinegar is commonly available -- and as a perfume in cosmetics.
