Since women can experience either psychological or physiological symptoms, or both types, Oona Health has developed two different formulations that may be taken separately or together. Staying within our philosophy of keeping formulations simple, Oona PMS1 contains two tablets - a daily tablet and an additional "bonus supplement". Each daily tablet consists of a very fine chaste tree berry extract that is standardized to its key active compound.
It is also formulated for younger women who may not remember to take their herbs throughout the day - so one tablet contains a mighty 275 mg. of chaste tree berry- all that should be required. (check with your health care professional)
Most products on the shelf contain only 60 mg. or less of a lesser quality extract. Since many women forget throughout the day to take the tablet or tincture, this often means they do not get enough chaste tree in their system and later wonder why it didn't work. The daily tablet also contains black cohosh. Neither black cohosh or chaste tree berry contain hormones or hormone-like substances; however the herbs do influence hormonal activity through the pituitary gland and hypothalamus.
Next, we've added a "bonus supplement" of passionflower for women who need a little extra relief. Taken just after ovulation ends, passionflower extract is a great complement to chaste tree berry for women who feel especially irritable and depressed just prior to menstruation.
Passionflower has historically been used as a calming agent, and is particularly helpful when physical or mental strain results in stress. It is not a strong pain reliever but does have a lasting and refreshing effect on the nervous system.
SUGGESTED USAGE
Take 1 Daily tablet in the morning with food. For added assistance, add 1 Passionflower tablet with the Daily tablet starting mid-cycle (approximately 14 days) until menstruation begins. You can expect to notice results within one to three cycles. Do not exceed 2 tablets per day.
Warnings: Although there are no know safety issues, OonaPMS1 should be discontinued if you think you are pregnant. On rare occasion stomach upset may occur, which is usually transient. If the problem persists, stop using and contact your health professional. Consult your doctor if you are taking birth control pills.

Anonymous "Works For My Symptoms"
IT works for me. My symptoms were so serious that I was on Paxil for over a year until I discovered that I do not suffer from general depression, but have severe PMDD. So for 3 months now I am not taking any medication at all except OONA and take 600mg Calcium in addition.
My mood irritability lasts now for 2 days before my period instead of all PMDD symptoms that lasted 10 to 14 days!!!
Of course I consulted my doctor before taking this.

Oh my GOD! I love it! Helps with all PMS symptoms, including mood swings and cramps. At first I did not understand why they are two separate products and now I do! One for my crazy moods, and the other for cramps. My sister, who does not really get PMS but does get horrible cramps, used my PMS 2 (without telling me until they were half gone) and I used them both. I was so happy they worked. It took about a month for me to begin to feel the results of PMS1 (as it states in the instructions), but once it kicked in I was amazed how my mood swings were not swingin'! Both my sister and I used to take a ton of ibuprofen to ease pain but both us have been barely using it. Thank goodness for PMS2; ibuprofen tears my stomach up! Hopefully, the product will become more popular and easier to find.

have been on Oona PMS1 and PMS2 for three months. I have been suffering from almost every symptom listed on both formulas for many years. Since I am extremely sensitive to all medication, I use only natural remedies, especially since they help to rebalance the hormonal imbalances causing the problems. It stood out to me when I read the Oona literature about the difference it makes when taking enough of a given herb to stimulate the expected response in the body, and that most herbs in the health food stores are not potent enough to deliver the desired result. Currently, my symptom profile for the PMS1 has reduced from a 10 to a 4, and from a 10+ to a 5/6 range for the PMS2. My monthly cycle rhythm has become regulated, which Ive never experienced before. I didn't really think this would work, but am ecstatic to say it really does. I'm 42 and I have for the last year or so had horribly heavy periods due to low progesterone and didn't want to use hormone replacement therapy due to side effects. I used the Nuvaring for the first two months I was taking Oona PMS1 and the third month went cold turkey, just relying on the Oona to give me a normal period like the birth control (Nuvaring) did. Not only did I have a normal (not heavy) period, I actually forgot my period was coming because I didn't have all the usual symptoms of mood swings, sore breasts, etc. I am going to buy some more as soon as I'm done writing this.

I've suffered from every symptom associated with pms forever. The first month I saw very little difference but the 2nd month I have had absolutely none. I am also using oona Pms2. I would have been happy with a product that cut my symptoms in half but never could believe it would get rid of all of them. How It Works
Oona PMS1 is formulated with herbs to help regulate production of hormones and, in turn, the menstrual cycle. Oona PMS1 daily tablet is comprised primarily of chaste tree berry based with added black cohosh. Neither black cohosh or chaste tree berry contain hormones or hormone-like substances; however the herbs do influence hormonal activity through the pituitary gland and hypothalamus.
In part, chaste tree berry has been shown to stimulate the brain to produce more of the luteinizing hormone (LH). Greater production of LH in turn signals the ovaries to produce more progesterone and thus balance the ratio of progesterone to estrogen. This leads to relief for many women who may find themselves irritable, depressed, and bloated right before their period. Chaste tree berry has also been used successfully for menstruation related acne.
Another benefit of chaste tree berry is its ability to lower prolactin levels. Elevated prolactin levels have been associated with PMS symptoms such as breast tenderness. The lowering of prolactin concentrations in turn also raises progesterone levels. It is this hormone balancing combination of lower prolactin and greater LH production that not only offers many women significant PMS relief but also a side benefit of achieving more regular ovulation. While chaste tree can do wonders to normalize a the menstrual cycle, Oona PMS1 should not be taken or stopped immediately if you think you may be pregnant.
